かつて股引という男性用下着の呼び名はパッチという名称に変わった。
この頃におそらく”ステテコ”という呼び名も生まれたようにも思うけれど、今日の本題はそこではなく、より幅広い年齢層の漢に”これメッチャ良いやん“を響かしたい我々はネーミングに頭を悩ませた。
それぞれの家で”ズボン下”と呼ばれている同類のパンツ、今では丈の長い下着のことを”タイツ”や”スパッツ”と呼ぶのが一般的なんだそうだ。うちの若手スタッフがそう言うのだから間違いないだろう。
当初はリピーターさんの頭の中を混乱させないよう、ボクサートランクスの丈が長くなったバージョンなのだから”ロングボクサートランクス“として発売するつもりだった。けれどこの記事を書いていて「ん?名称がストレートに入らん」と感じたのが不幸中の幸いなのか災いの元なのか。
何度も口に出してみても同じ。
お客様の接客時を想像しても口がもたついてくる。
気づいてしまったのだから後戻りはなしである。
下着カテには属しながら、パッチを着用する時には下着を着用してパッチをはく。
しかしボクサーパンツの下にボクサーパンツは着用しない。
そう、ポジティブにいうと”下着を着用しなくて良い“パッチの発売なのだ。
そして山城のステテコみたいにお肌が喜ぶ着心地に溢れている下着なのだ。

At first, to avoid confusing the minds of repeat customers, we intended to market them as “Long Boxer Trunks” because they are a longer version of boxer trunks. However, as I was writing this article, I thought, “Hmm? I was not sure if it was a blessing or a curse that I felt that the name was not straight forward.
It’s the same even if I tried to say it out loud many times.
I imagine myself serving a customer, but my mouth starts to get stuck.
Now that I am aware of it, there is no going back.
Although I belong to the underwear category, when I wear the patch, I wear the patch with underwear.
However, I do not wear boxer shorts under my boxer shorts.
So, to put it positively, this is the launch of the “no need to wear underwear” patch.
And like Yamashiro’s staples, the underwear is full of comfort that pleases the skin.

メンズボクサースパッツトランクスタイツなのか?
はたまたロングステテコなのだろうか。
メンズスパッツは用途が分かりにくいし、タイツは暑苦しい。
メンズボクサースパッツトランクスタイツなんて話にならない。
現状のボクサートランクスのデザインや、夏でもはける着心地はそのままである以上、ボクサーは外せない。トランクスやステテコとはデザインが違う。
七転八倒、紆余曲折、もはやこれがくどいのだけれど(笑)
ようやくネーミングが満場一致、いや鶴の一声で決めた。
メンズボクサースパッツ
ボクサーは下着、スパッツなら暑苦しさを感じず”長い“を連想できるだろうと。
ステテコほどワタリ(腿幅)は広くなく、程よいタイト感で細身のスーツの下着としてもモタつかない。ボクサースパッツ、すんなり頭に入ってくるネーミングに落ち着いたと自画自賛である。
