Hirata grew up with merchant parents.

Everything was new to me, so I didn’t know what was right and what was left, but I just did my best to learn one thing at a time.<\/p>\n

The azuki beans used are large ones from Hokkaido.
\nThe red beans are cooked slowly over a period of two days, and the sweet red bean paste is cooked again today, taking time and putting thought into the process.<\/p>\n
